Who do we vote for? My thoughts on the Candidates for President

fu16First off, all this HATE coming from both sides (Republican and Democrat sides) is counterproductive. Chances are people are going to vote for one or the other no matter what or who the parties run. I’m not part of any party (I was a Libertarian but they can’t seem to get any traction). I would be part of a party where it was Socially Liberal and Conservative in everything else. I like to say I am all for Married Gay couples protecting their pot plants with guns. I just want less of the government in my life and yours.

The other thing is, no matter who gets the office of President, your life isn’t going change much. We survived Carter and George W. Bush just fine and we will survive no matter which of these clowns get the office.

Here are my thoughts on the remaining candidates…

Hillary Clinton – Insider, Very connected with Washington DC and a liar. She says some good things, but it’s just that with her. What she does and what she says are totally unconnected things. She will smile to your face and kick you in the nuts as you walk away and then smile again when your turn around to see who did that. She would be in jail, most likely, if it were not for her name and connections.

Bernie Sanders – Very honest. Thinks money grows on trees and that everything should be “Free”. It would be nice, but since that isn’t part of the real world, he seems very “60’s” flower child / Mr. Magoo pie in the sky. Likely a great guy to hang out with.

Marco Rubio
– Too young and reads off the script too much. I don’t think he has an original thought not put there by some handler. When he tries, he sticks his foot in his mouth. Likely would be a good candidate in 16 or 20 years.

Ted Cruz
– Comes off as kind of an asshole. Ultra Right-wing on all things. Also doesn’t seem very honest. Creepy comes to mind. Can’t really put my finger on it, other than just creepy.

John Kasich – Who?

Donald Trump – Says a lot of things that make a lot of sense to a lot of people. He says it the way he thinks you want to hear it. Don’t know if he is dishonest or not. He also tends to say things unfiltered, which is fun to watch. Bugs the fuck out of both Democrats and Republicans. That alone makes him interesting.

I know the Libertarians, Green Party and a few others have candidates, but they don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell. In a perfect world we would have 5 or 6 parties to choose from. But we are not in a perfect world. I’m not into voting for the lesser of 2 evils. I guess we will see who the 2 are and go from there.
