After a long break since November, I’ve finally got a flight on the calendar—this Saturday, to be exact. It feels great to be getting back in the air again. This time around, I’ll be flying with a new instructor—fresh out of ATP training—so it’s going to be a checkout flight to get current and comfortable again.
I’ve been brushing up on my procedures and reviewing notes, making sure I’m ready to hit the ground running… or rather, the skies soaring. Like any good pilot, I’ve also been closely watching the weather, hoping my usual “weather magnet” effect doesn’t kick in (you know, where the forecast goes south the moment I book a plane).
I’ll be taking to the skies in the mighty RV-12, N264GW, out of Giving Wings Aviation at Traverse City’s Cherry Capital Airport (KTVC). The image on this post? AI-generated, but the excitement is very real.
Here’s to a smooth flight, blue skies, and an awesome flying season ahead!
