Today I made the derision to move all of my “online broadcasting” and blogging efforts over to one website. I realize that this goes against the trend of other content creators who have multiple shows and multiple websites (Like I have been doing). From here on out, my website, my podcast, my blog, my business and everything will be over at geekofthenorth.com. I am the Geek of the North and everything fits with that “Brand”.

For the longest time I’ve told clients and even employers that the best way to promote your business on the web is to do online media. It’s time for me to drink the cool-aid. Geek of the North will be my podcast, broadcasting, blogging, youtubing, online technology coaching and business website. It’s going to take some time moving and editing content from the other websites, but I think, in the long run it will be worth the trouble.

Today I talk about the blog post over at Mike Dell’s World where I wonder if the word “Podcast” has run is course.

I have re-branded this show as an “online radio show” and I am a Broadcaster because of it. Read the post and listen to the show to hear more.

I had breakfast this morning with Keven Reeves and a bunch of other geeks at the Traverse City Geek Breakfast. It was a great time!

I played some of Kevin’s old music (from 2005 and 2006) in this show.

An update after so long away from THIS microphone.

I give you updates about what’s been going on over the last however long it was since the last podcast. I also made the decision to pull the plug on the Unplugged feed. That’s All Folks! I will be putting all my podcasts into the main feed at http://mikedell.com/feed/podcast/. The Radio Mike Dell feed will stay active to catch all the other podcasts I do and the Video feed will stay active although, I’m guessing I won’t be putting a lot in there. We will see.

You can also subscribe to the Radio Mike Dell feed and get everything I do.

I plan on walking a lot now that the weather is breaking and I plan on having the recorder with me for unplugged episodes.

Been BUSY BUSY BUSY with lots of stuff.. It’s not supposed to be that way in winter around here. I talk about the trip to Novi, MI for my Wife’s Work.

NOVI: The name Novi was taken from the township, which was organized in 1832 from Farmington Township. The name was offered by resident Dr. J. C. Emery, at the suggestion of his wife. Residents were reportedly looking for a shorter name than Farmington.

Several popular but historically inaccurate explanations have been given for the origin of the name Novi. One version is that it was named after the 6th tollgate (No. VI) on the Grand River toll road. However, the township was named in 1832 and the toll road was not constructed until the 1850s. A similar claim is made about the township being stop number 6 on the railroad. However, the Holly, Wayne and Monroe Railway (now CSX Transportation) was not constructed through the township until 1870–71, almost 40 years after it was named. A third popular misconception is that Novi was the sixth stagecoach stop outside of Detroit. None of which is really true. I thought it was the interstate Exit
